Creative Arts
This academic year, we will be completeing a recovery curriculum. This will ensure that each child is taught the key skills they missed when in lockdown at the end of the previous year, as well as the skills missed during the first half of Autumn term. Please see the Long Term plans on each page for more information about what the children will be learning.
Children at St George's particpate in a wide variety of Creative Arts. We enable the children to use and progress through technical skills in all areas of Creative Arts: Art, Design Technology and Music, as well as, see the Creative Arts as a profession they can continue to strive towards during their education. As a Foundation Subject, it is taught by all teachers once a week, with Art and DT on a six week termly rotation. As with every subject, we try to challenge the children with their technicques and skills so they can get the most out of being creative.
We are constantly trying to improve the experiences the children are open to during their time at St George's and there are plenty of opportunities for them to take part in after-school activities and outreach programmes run by Southwark Music and other services. The children certainly enjoy being creative!
