Remember that reading is the single most important thing you can do for your education. There are lots of ways to access texts online that can be added to the books already at home to support your child in their reading.

www.oxfordowl.co.uk is great for online books and it is free to register a home account.

Amazon also does free children's ebooks on their website - you do not need a kindle to access these digital texts.

In your child's home learning pack, I have given a fresh copy of the reading response tasks that were sent home at the start of the year. These can be completed using any books from the above resources, or books from home. If you would like some extra comprehension activities, please visit www.twinkl.co.uk, who have plenty available under year 3 and it is currently free to subscribe!

Writing Tasks - Week beginning 6.7.20

Please watch the teaching input each day, pause the video when it asks and complete the suggested activities in your exercise book. I am looking forward to seeing your work - pictures can be sent to our class email - year3@stgps.org.uk.

This week, we will begin a new story, Dragon Machine, to use for our English writing. Each day the writing task is presented in the video, along with re-reading any parts that are needed. During the video, there are points when you should stop the video and complete a short activity. Please do this and then continue the video, finishing by completing the longer writing piece in your exercise books. The whole activity should take between 45 minutes to an hour. Good luck! Most of the story is read in the lesson videos, but I have also included a video of someone reading the story from youtube!
