PSHE & Wellbeing

This half-term our PSHE (Personal, Social, Health and Economic education) question is:

What makes up our identity?

This unit is from the Core Theme  'Health and Wellbeing':

We will consider:

  • how to recognise and respect similarities anddifferences between people and what we have in common with others

  • that there are a range of factors that contribute to a person’s identity (e.g. ethnicity, family, faith, culture, gender, hobbies, likes/dislikes)

  • how individuality and personal qualities make up someone’s identity (including that gender identity is part of personal identity and for some people does not correspond with their biology)

  • about stereotypes and how they are not always accurate, and can negatively influence behaviours and attitudes towards others

  • how to challenge stereotypes and assumptions about others

To look after yourself, you need to focus on your emotional wellbeing as well as your physical wellbeing. Look below for some tips to keep yourself healthy and happy.

Stay Physically Active:

To stay happy  and healthy it is important to stay active. This helps our bodies deal with our worrries and releases endorphins to help keep you happy. I suggest that you try to stay active and There are loads of activities you can do at home to stay active, for example:

Stay Happy and Calm:

It is ok to be feeling a lot of different emotions. Remember to talk about how you are feeling with a trusted adult when you need to.

Why not try some mindfullness?

Mindfulness is simply… noticing what is happening right now. Mindfulness is taking notice of how your body feels and what you see, smell and taste.  When you notice what is happening around you, it can help you to calm down when you’re sad, angry or frustrated. Mindfulness helps you deal with tough emotions, and mindfulness can make you happy and feel good.

We would love to hear from you!
