Science

Our Science Unit this term is 'Electricity'.

Our Scientific Enquiry Focus is 'comparitive and fair testing'.

By the end of the unit, we will be able to:

  • identify common appliances that run on electricity
  • construct a simple series electrical circuit, identifying and naming its basic parts, including cells, wires, bulbs, switches and buzzers

We will work scientifically by:

  • Asking simple questions and recognising that they can be answered in different ways
  • Observing closely, using simple equipment
  • Performing simple tests
  • Using their observations and ideas to suggest answers to questions
  • Gathering and recording data to help in answering questions.
  • Pupils should be taught about precautions for working safely with electricity
