Spelling and Grammar
This week's learning

These are the ten words I would like you to learn this week. The spellings are based on words ending in 'ere'. Try to use some of them in your writing tasks, this will help you to learn the meaning of the word. You can also use the file named 'Spelling Activities' for different ways to practise the spellings given.
If you are one of those children who usually receives 2 lots of spelling practice a week, pick another 5 words from the Year 3 and 4 list to learn. Give yourself a little test with these words as well.
Here is your Grammar activity. Click the picture to see it in a larger form. The answers are available from the Files to Download section.
I have uploaded the Year 5 and 6 spelling list so the children can practise these words. At a later date, I will upload weekly list for them to have a look at. For those of you who think your child (ask them, they will know) needs more practise look at the Year 3 and 4 spelling list and learn those as well. You can use the file named 'Spelling Activities' for different ways to practise the spellings given.
Nessy is also a fabulous resource which pinpoints spelling gaps in your child's knowledge. You will have to sign up and pay for it though - https://learn.nessy.com/account/login#/accountLogin
I have only uploaded the Spelling and Grammar activity for this week. The children should already have this in their pack. With the other mats, that will be uploaded at a later date, they will need to make an informed decision - if they found Autumn 1 to easy, they need to pick the 3 star mat; if they found Autumn 1 to challenging, they need to pick the 1 star activity; and if they found it just right, they can pick the 2 star activity again. This will help them to be challenged the right amount and it is important that they pick the right one. When marking, if all their answers are wrong then they might need to move down a star activity.
