SCIENCE WEEK

Confusing cans. You are probably thinking... what in the world?

We did a investigation on confusing cans. Mrs Barnes had removed the labels from 5 different cans labelled A to E and we had to guess what was inside without opening them. We struggled, but enjoyed the challenge. We smelt them, shook them, smacked them on the ground, but did not succeed to find out what was inside.

Our final guess was canned tuna, canned tomatoes, canned dog or cat food, canned beans (hmmm yummy) and canned chickpeas.

New Box - Cylindricals or specially shaped food cans.

We then did an experiment to see which can would roll the furthest. We all thouhgt the smallest one would, but in fact the biggest one did. We later learned this is because it has a greater force, which means the contents inside the can gives it a great push or drive to go further.
