What is a PTA?

PTA stands for Parent Teacher Association and is a charitable association run by parents and teachers to discuss matters that affect the school and to organise events to raise money. PTAs support a network of families, students, teachers and community leaders devoted to the educational success of children and promoting family engagement in schools.

St George’s C of E PTA:

• St George’s C of E Parent Teacher Association (PTA) is a Registered Charitable association run by parents.
• Everyone who is a parent and carer of a child or children attending St George’s are part of the wider Parent Teacher Association. We have a core group that meets regularly and makes decisions. Everyone is welcome to join this.
• Our purpose is
  • to raise funds to support school projects, equipment and non –curricular activities that enrich the life of the school
  • contribute to a friendly and fun school community by organising events like coffee mornings.
