Phonics

Phonics

Below are the Early Learning Goals needed to be achieved by your child at the end of Reception:

At St Georges, we teach phonics for 30 minutes a day based on the Read Write Inc Phonics Scheme, which is a comprehensive, synthetic phonics programme that teaches children how to read.

Children in Reception are taught in small groups based on their developing phonological knowledge. In Reception we currently have 3 groups who are split between Miss Hammans, Mr Pedro and Miss Michelle.
