Welcome to Year 1 - Julia Donaldson Class

I am your teacher this year, Miss Turner. Our support staff are Miss Edith and Miss Kudirat.

Year 1 Key Information:

. Our class door opens at 8:40 and the school day begins at 8:45.

. The school day ends at 15:15

. PE Kits should be brought in on a Monday and will return home on Friday.

. Homework will be given out on Friday and must be brought in on a Wednesday. 

Year 1 Homework Expectations:

Reading 

Reading is the single most important thing you can do to support your child.

Your child will receive 3 books each week. Two phonics books for your child to read to you and a free choice of book corner book for you to share with your child. This is for you to enjoy with your child; you may need to read it to them.  

Please read every day and write in your reading record. Books will be changed throughout the week so please ensure they are always in your child's book bag. Reading their phoncs book more than once is recommended so that the children learn the words and commit them to memory.

Maths

Maths Sheet (reflecting the work we are doing in class)

OR

Complete assigned Mathletics work online (at least 30 minutes a week but more ideal).
